The Level at Melia Caribe Tropical
If you are looking for a cool Caribbean place I would like to recommend for you to check out The Level at Melia Caribe Tropical. We visited The Level in June 2015 with another couple and had a great time. It is all-inclusive and The Level is adults only. The resort itself is large; there is a regular part of the resort with families and kids and then there is “The Level” which is the exclusive adults only section. While people from outside The Level cannot come there, guests at The Level had access to everywhere on both properties: other pools, restaurants, etc.
The resort is very nice, well maintained, and has beautiful grounds. The room we stayed in was large, clean, and very nice. Our concierge Jorge was on top of everything. We had a standard room but our friends had a room with a whirlpool and they loved it even more. There is one main pool area, but it is huge, plenty of space to find your own beach chairs or we always got out there early and were able to get cabanas in the shade which are free as well! The pool bar is a pretty happening place. The frozen drinks were good and they have a local liquor there called “Mama Juana” that provided quite the fun time one afternoon. People were always friendly and other guests were quick to start conversations with us. In the afternoon they have a DJ that hosts like a pool bar dance party. If you want some beach time, the sand is white and gorgeous. They have a lot of beach chairs out on the beach and drink service there as well. The beach itself is not really visible from any of the rooms due to how the resort grounds are laid out but it is only a short walk by the pool to get there.
Breakfast was mainly a large buffet and the restaurants were all open for lunch and dinner. Each restaurant has a different theme (French, Seafood, American grill). There are a couple restaurants at The Level, any many more to choose from throughout the rest of the resort. It is about a 10 minute walk to the main part of the resort with other restaurants and bars, but you do not need to walk if you do not want to; they have golf carts that will take you anywhere on the resort. The night life and casino are also up at the front of the resort.
There are activities on the resort to do throughout the day and plenty of excursions outside of the resort to visit as well.
